Monarch Solar, OneEnergy’s community solar project in Prince George’s County, participates in Maryland’s newly opened community solar program.
Inspired by the native Monarch butterfly, Monarch Solar co-locates farming, honey production, and pollinator-friendly renewable energy in Upper Marlboro in Prince George’s County. Planned on privately-owned property in Upper Marlboro, the landowner fully supports the project. Designed to lower the cost of your monthly electric bill, Monarch Solar makes clean energy accessible to everyone.
Community solar enables residents who can’t access rooftop solar to sign up for locally sourced renewable energy. Our partner, CleanChoice Energy, signs up Pepco customers who wish to use clean energy from the project to lower their electric bills. OneEnergy is designing and overseeing the project.
