Washington, DC - OneEnergy is proud to announce its receipt of the Community Power Accelerator Prize from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This significant award underscores OneEnergy's commitment to advancing community solar and marks a critical step in the company’s work to increase energy affordability and access. Community solar is a game changer for consumers and businesses because it offers a choice to purchase all or a portion of your electricity from a solar farm in your geographic area, rather than placing solar panels on your property.

The prize, part of the DOE's efforts to drive meaningful benefits and increase the adoption of community solar, aligns with OneEnergy's mission to bring affordable clean energy to all Americans. This initiative is a testament to the Biden Administration's dedication to clean energy, as outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and promotes energy choice across the United States. Through this prize and our work in states with enabling community solar legislation, OneEnergy is positioned to contribute to the National Community Solar Partnership’s goal of powering 5 million households and generating $1 billion in household savings by 2025.

"Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Department of Energy for recognizing our efforts and the potential of our community solar portfolio to drive meaningful benefits in communities across the country," said Tobin Booth, CEO of OneEnergy. "This prize is not just a win for OneEnergy but a milestone for communities and businesses who have historically had only one type of electricity available to them. This marks the beginning of a transformative journey towards a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable energy future."

This award is a catalyst for OneEnergy's current and future endeavors to increase access to energy choice for households and businesses. With a community solar pipeline greater than 1,000MW across 11 states, the company is positioned to accelerate the adoption of clean energy.
