Bluegrass Solar

Location: Queen Anne's County on the eastern short of Maryland

Size: 102 MWdc

Bluegrass Solar is named for the grassland shrub that is an important nesting cover for the native Northern Bobwhite quail. Northern Bobwhite quail were once prevalent on the eastern shore. Their population have been steadily declining since the 1960's due to habitat loss.

The project features nearly 500 acres of native pollinator habitat. Bluegrass also permanently preserves 70 acres of forest land and 41 acres of new forest plantings, the equivalent of more than 50 football fields.

Interconnecting Utility Company: Delmarva Power and Light

The project sells its electricity to AT&T under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement
