Steel Bridge

Location: Polk County, OR

Size: 2.38 MWdc

OneEnergy developed the nearly 3.0 MW Steel Bridge Solar project in Polk County, Oregon. The project began operating in February 2016 under a power purchase agreement with Portland General Electric.

Steel Bridge Solar is a unique community success story. Previously, noxious weeds and blackberry brambles previously covered the land. The Steel Bridge location is also adjacent to electrical infrastructure. Today, the land hosts a renewable energy project that generates reliable revenue for the property owner. It produced nearly 4,000 MWh of energy in its first year of operation. Steel Bridge also currently works as the largest solar PV project in Portland General Electric’s service territory.

Steel Bridge will help Oregon meet its renewable energy goals— with a 50% renewable energy requirement by 2040—and is the heart of PGE’s Green Future Solar program. Green Future Solar fosters voluntary green power participation with Oregon’s residential customers.

NRG financed, owns, and operates Steel Bridge Solar.
